Machine details

A CO2 laser cutting machine cuts and engraves non-metallic sheet. Acrylic, wood, leather, fabric and paper absorb 10.6 um strongly; a focusing lens concentrates the beam into a high-density spot, and the material melts, vaporizes and is blown out of the kerf by assist gas within a very short time. The Zhongyi ZY-CO2 Cutting uses DSP digital control with in-house drive and optical systems in an integrated chassis that stays stable and delivers roughly 50 percent higher throughput than comparable machines.

On specifications: power options of 100 W, 130 W, 150 W, 300 W, 450 W and 600 W; working areas of 40x60, 60x90, 130x90 and 160x120 cm; engraving speed 0-60 m/min and cutting speed 0-48 m/min; repeatability +/-0.05 mm; AC 220 V +/-10% supply. Laser heads can be specified as dual, triple, quad or multi-head. Multiple heads work the same artwork in parallel within one working area, which is the most direct way to raise capacity on repeat orders.

On the software side it interfaces live with AutoCAD and CorelDRAW so what you see is what you cut, and data transfer runs over USB, USB stick or network cable - flexible for shop-floor wiring. Table options are honeycomb, slat or grid, chosen by material form: honeycomb holds thin flexible sheet flat by suction, while slat tables handle heavy board and let slag fall through.

On power selection: 100-150 W suits acrylic and thin-board precision engraving and advertising letters; 300 W is the recommended default, balancing engraving with medium-thickness cutting; 450-600 W targets thicker stock and high-tact batch production. One caution - a CO2 cutter cannot cut metal; for metal, a fiber cutting solution is the right answer.

Why this machine class

Every point below is a checkable fact, not an unprovable promise.

  • High-speed galvanometer scanning: fast, strong interference rejection, and a stable mark path over long runs.
  • Integrated frame with high rigidity; changing a job means editing parameters, not dismantling the machine.
  • Non-contact processing: no tool wear, clean and permanent marks that do not fade.
  • Software imports DXF / PLT / BMF / AI / JPG artwork, editable on the PC before marking.
  • Batch import from TXT / Excel, with automatic serial numbers, production dates, QR codes and barcodes.
  • No consumables and low maintenance cost; the optical module is an industrial part whose service life is defined by its datasheet.
  • Quiet operation with virtually no dust, suitable for 24-hour continuous running (a constant-temperature chiller keeps energy output stable).
  • A tight focus gives narrow kerf and minimal heat impact, so parts need little or no secondary finishing.
  • Integrated cabinet houses extraction and cooling, ready for continuous work out of the box.

Questions

Buyer questions

How thick can a CO2 laser cutter cut?

Cutting thickness depends on both power and material: at 300 W the machine handles medium-thickness acrylic and wood board, while 450-600 W targets thicker stock and higher throughput. At a given power, acrylic cuts more easily than wood, and MDF more easily than solid timber. Exact capability must be proven on your real material - send a sample block and we will test-cut it, then report the maximum thickness and recommended speed for that material.

Is a dual or multi-head configuration worth it?

It depends on batch size. Multiple heads process the same artwork in parallel within one working area, roughly multiplying throughput linearly - ideal for large repeats such as cutting dozens or hundreds of identical acrylic parts. If your orders are one-off or high-mix low-volume, head utilization stays low and a single head is more economical. The ZY-CO2 Cutting offers dual/triple/quad/multi-head options that can also be added later as volume grows.

How do you get a clean, yellow-free edge when cutting acrylic?

Yellowing comes from heat buildup and re-solidified slag. Key controls: match power to speed (too slow causes over burning), place the focus at mid-thickness, use assist gas to clear slag, and start from quality acrylic - cast acrylic gives a clearer edge than extruded. The ZY-CO2 Cutting's DSP control sets an accurate power-speed curve, and a honeycomb table keeps the sheet flat. Send your actual sheet and we will test-cut it and return photos and video of the edge.
