Why this question comes up: the physics
A flying laser marker is built for the line: an encoder reads line speed continuously and the controller applies vector compensation, so artwork is never stretched or compressed and speed changes do not distort it. Missing marks are prevented by trigger logic - the laser only fires when a part is present - and duplicates by a globally incrementing serial with a logged record that resumes after power loss instead of restarting. Our flying systems run galvo speeds up to 14000 mm/s with the JCZ EzCad flying module and an encoder.
The answer and the process detail
Throughput is set by line speed and code content, not by the laser alone. For a single date code of roughly 10 to 15 characters, flying marking typically lands in the range of several thousand to over ten thousand caps per hour. More characters, higher contrast requirements and complex logos all slow the cycle. Galvo speed up to 14000 mm/s is the ceiling, but your line speed and encoder layout decide the real number. Send the target parts per hour and the code content and we will work back to feasibility.
How to set it up and verify it
Feasibility rests on three things: encoder resolution matched to line speed, trigger-to-laser latency compensation, and headroom in galvo speed. Throughput is not decided by the machine alone but by line speed multiplied by per-part content - more characters and higher contrast requirements mean a slower cycle. Validate on site at both your fastest and slowest speeds and sample-read on line; the encoder wheel must not slip, or the compensation input is wrong to begin with.
Selection and delivery
It suits continuous or segmented coding on packaging, personal care, food, cable and tube, and is often used to replace inkjet: no consumables, no fading, resistant to abrasion and heat. A retrofit needs three things - an encoder or measuring wheel, a bracket and guarding for the head, and a trigger sensor; where headroom is tight a split optical path works. Standard machines ship within seven working days. Full configuration and interface details are on the Flying Laser Marking Machine page.
Procurement Q&A
Standard machines ship in 7 days; rush orders in 3–5 days; custom non-standard builds in 15–30 days. Before production we confirm drawings, process and sample results to avoid rework.
18-month warranty on the machine. Core parts like the laser source and galvo are replaceable standard parts with long-term supply, so repairs and swaps are documented.
Yes. Send a sample and we return a real test video within 24 hours and ship the part back. Key models get a 48-hour aging test, so you see the actual result on your own workpiece before deciding.

We have 3+ engineers, 7+ authorised patents and 5000+ units shipped. Standard parts like laser source and galvo are stocked long-term for predictable replenishment.
Price depends on the model (UV / fiber / CO₂), power, laser-source brand (Raycus / JPT / IPG) and configuration (galvo, field lens, control software). Zhongyi Laser lists the exact laser-source and galvo models on the quote and in the contract, so the configuration is verifiable and easy to reorder or replace later.

The control software is JCZ EzCad (EzCad2 or EzCad3), whose interface can be switched between languages, and routine actions can be exposed on a simplified screen for operators. What really decides how fast someone learns it is not language but permissions and workflow - lock the parameters and leave only template selection, start and stop, so nobody can change the process by accident. We supply manuals in Chinese and English plus remote training.
Fiber and UV sources are rated in operating hours and normally reach tens of thousands of hours. The real consumables are galvo and lens contamination plus cooling system upkeep. For continuous duty the maintenance priorities are three: keep coolant or airflow clean, clean the f-theta lens on schedule, and replace wear parts per the manual. Every unit is burned in for 48 hours before shipping, we supply a maintenance guide, and spares ship within 24 hours.
